Welcome to Brooklyn Terry’s “Set the Foundation†Season 1 house dance lecture, workshop, and coaching series.
In this series, we will explore the fundamental movements and ideologies of house dance. We will build our foundation through Brooklyn Terry’s 5 basic principles: Groove, Step, Variation, Direction & Speed.
â˜ðŸ¿. Groove - The natural movements of your body reacting to the music.
✌ðŸ¿. The Step (the technique) - How those natural movements become basic techniques to create a step.
🖖ðŸ¿. Variation - Creating variations of those basic steps to build a larger vocabulary.
✌ðŸ¿âœŒðŸ¿. Direction - Moving those steps around in space.
ðŸ–ðŸ¿. Speed - Slowing down and speeding up those grooves, steps, and variations to create phrasing and flow in your dance.
This 6-week course will 1) provide tutorials on six different steps, 2) personal feedback from Terry, and 3) group sessions.
Come through to rock with us, have some fun, and build that foundation!
